Moreno Holds Whales Scoreless Thursday, July 8th, 1982 Gerardo Moreno bent a little, but he didn't break against the Miami Whales. The St. Petersburg Saints pitcher hurled a 1-hit 1-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 10 walks and tallying 3 strikeouts. "Gerardo is good at getting out of jams," Saints manager told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
