Palms Buried - Out of Playoffs Thursday, July 29th, 1982 The baseball world has known for a long time that the Fort Myers Palms were not destined for the playoffs this year. But now it is official, as the team was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. Fort Myers last appeared in the postseason in 1980. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 8 times in their 12-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Palms have missed the playoffs 6 times. |
