Frederick Rips 3 Homers Against Sun Sox
Friday, July 30th, 1982
Whatever David Frederick ate for breakfast before his game against the Winter Haven Sun Sox today, it gave him some impressive power.
The Tampa left fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Chain of Lakes Park. His home run barrage led the Pirates to take the 9-1 victory over the Sun Sox.
"When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all."
On his 3-homer day, he went 4-for-5, scored 3 times, drove in 3 and put on a display that history will remember.
David Frederick hit a solo-shot off Camila Estado in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Camila Estado in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Luis Soriano in the 9th.
Presently Frederick is batting .226 and has collected 23 home runs, 49 RBIs, .317 OBP and scored 55 runs.
