Whales Grant Smacks 5 Hits Friday, August 6th, 1982 Miami left fielder Tom Grant had a day to remember today, 5-for-6 against the Daytona Beach Islanders at City Island Ballpark as the Whales picked up a 13-1 victory. "He was patient up there today," Miami skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Grant has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Tom Grant hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Michael Rostas in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
