Gonzalez Cruises to Shutout Sunday, August 15th, 1982 A favor to his bullpen. That's what Julian Gonzalez was doing at Pompano Beach Municipal Park today as he blanked the Cocoa Flyers in a 9-inning complete game shutout. "I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Pompano Beach Stingrays right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid." Gonzalez notched 8 strikeouts, surrendered 4 walks, allowed 4 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
