Tampa's Frederick Snags August Batting Title Wednesday, September 1st, 1982 David Frederick made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Florida State League this past month. The Tampa Pirates left fielder shined through the month of August and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 21-year-old hit .298 with 8 home runs, 17 RBIs and 10 runs scored. Frederick has played in 149 games and posted a lifetime .251 average. He has 136 hits, 10 doubles, 2 triples and 39 homers. In addition he has driven in 91 runs and scored 91 times. |
