Rocky Mount Shuts Out Rebels, Irizarry Winner Thursday, August 5th, 1982 Rocky Mount Leafs pitcher Vic Irizarry blanked the Salem Rebels 1-0 at Rocky Mount Municipal Stadium today, tossing a 4-hitter while issuing 1 walk and collecting 7 strikeouts. After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club. "I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Irizarry said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
