Cruz Shines, Shuts Out Lynchburg, 7-0 Tuesday, August 10th, 1982 Edgar Cruz really had his stuff working at Lynchburg City Stadium today. The Rocky Mount Leafs hurler mystified the Lynchburg Hillcats and shut them out 7-0. Cruz allowed a total of 2 hits in the ballgame and struck out 9. "The shutout is nice but I'm just happy we won," Cruz said with a smile after the game. "Coach can be a real bear when we lose." For the season Cruz has compiled a 4-6 record with a 3.13 ERA.
