Winston-Salem Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Sunday, August 15th, 1982 It has been a woeful season for the Winston-Salem Spirits and now they have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. "You always need some things to break your way to get into the playoffs," said manager . "And nothing broke our way this year." The Spirits have missed the playoffs 12 times in their 12 years as a Carolina League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 13th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1968. |
