Season Possibly Over for Perry Cliburn
Friday, August 20th, 1982
Perry Cliburn will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the Peninsula starting pitcher could miss the remainder of the year. Cliburn was injured while throwing a pitch in the Panthers-Leafs clash at Peninsula War Memorial Stadium recently. Doctors said he has a torn labrum and would be out a minimum of 4 months.
Cliburn has gone 7-3 this season with an ERA of 3.70 and 44 strikeouts in 97.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .238 against him.
