Greg Jelks Winner in Carolina League Wednesday, September 1st, 1982 Greensboro Hornets fans believe they've got a talented young star in Greg Jelks. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in August, as he hit .314 with 7 home runs, 22 RBIs and 18 runs scored. The end result was the third baseman being named the Carolina League Batter of the Month. Jelks is hitting .290 so far this season with 80 RBIs and 76 runs scored. He has 93 hits including 19 home runs, 58 walks and .395 OBP. |
