The hard-working and hard-playing john W Russell was rewarded with the Western Carolinas League Player of the Week honors. The scrappy Gastonia Rockets catcher hit .462 while collecting 12 hits in 26 at-bats, 4 home runs and 10 RBIs. In 17 games Russell is hitting .328 this season with 22 hits, 8 home runs, 18 RBIs, 3 walks, .366 OBP and has scored 13 runs. |
