Finch Voted MWL Player of the Week Monday, July 12th, 1982 Steve Finch drew on his youthful energy and pitching skill to win Midwest League Player of the Week honors last week. The Quincy Cubs pitcher registered 2 wins and no losses, 0.53 ERA and 9 strikeouts in 17 innings to sew up the award. The 24-year-old also held opposing hitters to 9 hits and a .150 batting average. This season Finch has crafted a 4-8 mark with a 3.55 ERA in 114 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .241 against him and he has 57 strikeouts. |
