Star of the Week Honored in MWL Monday, August 9th, 1982 The Player of the Week has been announced by the Midwest League. The honor went to Willie Perez, first baseman of the Quincy Cubs. He burned up the league with a .471 average to win the award. Perez went 8-for-17 for the week, totaled 3 home runs with 7 RBIs and scored 5 times. This season Perez is batting .311 with 89 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 37 times and has 47 RBI. |
