Hardy 5-for-8 for Bees
Wednesday, August 18th, 1982
It was a good day for the Bees at Community Field as they clipped the Quincy Cubs, 18-15. It was tremendous day for Frank Hardy, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-8.
"I don't know what to call that," the Burlington first baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
Frank Hardy grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, grounded out in the 9th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 12th.
Hardy is currently hitting at a .264 pace with 2 home runs, 29 RBIs and has scored 21 times.
