MWL's Best Player, Winningham of Burlington Monday, August 23rd, 1982 When Herm Winningham stepped into the batter's box, he meant business. His outstanding play this week has netted the Burlington right fielder the well-deserved Midwest League Player of the Week Award. Playing in 7 games he lashed out a .407 average with 11 hits, 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 9 runs scored. So far this season Winningham has put up a .311 batting average with 73 hits, 7 home runs and 34 RBIs. |
