Stellern Pops 3 Out of the Park Against Bucks Thursday, August 12th, 1982 Huron Cubs bombardier Mike Stellern set his sights on the stands and blasted three balls over the fence as his club took a 12-1 win over the Watertown Bucks today. "I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one," Stellern told writers in the postgame press room. "I was ahead in the count, so I gambled that I'd get a certain pitch, and got all of it." For the game, the Huron center fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 6, and scored 3 runs. Mike Stellern hit a two-run home run off Jack Littrell in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Kenneth Likewise in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Michael Beecroft in the 6th and struck out in the 7th. Stellern's current batting average stands at .269 and he has chalked up 16 home runs and 77 RBIs. |
