Soto Grabs NTL Reliever of the Year Award Monday, September 13th, 1982 At the young age of only 23, Jose Soto has been named the Northern League Reliever of the Year Award winner for 1982. The future appears bright for the Huron Cubs relief ace, who captured the award with 25 saves in 44 relief appearances, 67 strikeouts in 58.2 innings and a record of 5-4 to go with his 0.77 ERA. He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Randy Graham of the Watertown Bucks finished second in voting, while Juan Contreras of the Aberdeen Pheasants finished third.
