Player of the Week: Bluefield's Price
Monday, July 26th, 1982
No single hit brought David Price Player of the Week honors -- the Bluefield Grays left fielder corralled the award with a consistent approach in every at-bat.

"Hitting is all about discipline," said Price. "When you lose focus, start to lunge at the ball and swing too aggressively... swinging at a lot of bad pitches... that's when your average starts to drop and you wind up fighting for playing time. You're most successful when you concentrate on the ball and make 'em throw strikes."

Concentrate he did. Price stroked 10 hits in 19 at-bats while cranking out 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

This season Price is batting .300 with 30 hits, 3 home runs, 14 RBIs, .400 OBP and has scored 19 runs.
