Pineda Shuts Out Renton
Saturday, July 24th, 1982
A favor to his bullpen. That's what Victor Pineda was doing at North Bend Municipal Park today as he blanked the Renton Wrecks in a 9-inning complete game shutout.
"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Coos Bay-North Bend Blue Soxs right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."
Pineda notched 3 strikeouts, surrendered 5 walks, allowed 5 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
In 7 starts this season Pineda has rung up a 2-2 record and a 3.51 ERA.
