Rapids Blank Black Sox, Lepson Wins Thursday, July 15th, 1982 In an outstanding mound performance, Niagara Falls Rapids starter Mark Lepson fired a complete-game shutout against the Newark Black Sox at Hyde Park Stadium today. Lepson was the key to the Rapids's 4-0 win. The 22-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 4 hits and no walks he allowed. "4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." This season Lepson has 3 wins and 2 losses and a 1.90 ERA. View Boxscore |
