Mozzafiato Bewilders Falcons in 2-0 Shutout Tuesday, August 31st, 1982 The Geneva Red Legs did little to support starter Roland Mozzafiato against the Jamestown Falcons, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Falcons, striking out 7 and surrendering 5 hits. The performance from Mozzafiato allowed Geneva to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said 'Roland, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Mozzafiato told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it." So far this season Mozzafiato has a record of 4-3 with 88 strikeouts and 50 walks in 99.2 innings and a 3.79 ERA. View Boxscore |
