Geneva Red Legs Sweep Round 1
Saturday, September 4th, 1982
The Geneva Red Legs rolled over the Jamestown Falcons 12-1 at College Stadium to easily win the 1982 Round 1 crown.

Geneva won in a walk and swept the series from the Falcons 4-0. It was their 2nd championship title.

Winning manager praised his own club as well as the opposition, calling the Falcons "a fine team."

"It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them," he said. "We always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the Round 1."

The Red Legs took first place in the New York-Pennsylvania League and rounded out the year with a 41-24 record.
