Marty Ayala Injured, Out for Year Tuesday, August 10th, 1982 Caldwell has lost starting pitcher Marty Ayala for at least 5-6 months. He was hurt in a game against the Spuds while throwing a pitch and sustained a torn rotator cuff. His doctors said Ayala will probably be out the rest of the year. This year Ayala has made 11 starts, thrown 71.1 innings, fanned 27 batters and walked 35. His won-lost record is 3-3 with a 5.30 ERA. |
