Blue Jays, Akchurin Silence Butte, 11-0 Friday, August 13th, 1982 In an outstanding mound performance, Medicine Hat Blue Jays starter Erol Akchurin fired a complete-game shutout against the Butte Copper Kings at Medicine Hat Ballyard today. Akchurin was the key to the Blue Jays's 11-0 win. The 24-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 3 hits and 1 walk he allowed. "3 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." In 10 starts this season Akchurin has gathered 5 wins while suffering 4 losses.
