Mustangs End Jelks's Streak
Saturday, August 14th, 1982
Pat Jelks of the Williston Water Wolves came up empty at the plate today and went hitless in 4 at-bats for the first time in 29 games. Making matters even worse for the left fielder, Williston dropped the game to the Billings Mustangs 6-2.
"It was not a good day today," Jelks told the press in postgame comments. "We lost the game and the streak is over."
This season in 47 games, Jelks has hit at a .345 clip with 69 hits, 9 home runs, 44 RBIs and 46 runs scored.
