Spikes Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Sunday, August 22nd, 1982 The Ogden Spikes will have to play out the season without even the faintest glimmer of hope for a late-season playoff push. The club was mathematically eliminated today from postseason contention. Before this season, the Spikes last missed the playoffs in 1979. In the 12 years they have been a Pioneer League franchise, they have missed the playoffs 7 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 6 times.
