Pirates Not Competitive in 7-0 Loss to Dunedin Tuesday, August 18th, 1981 It wasn't easy but Scott Johnson made it look that way. Johnson silenced the Port Arthur Pirates, 7-0, in a Dunedin Rangers triumph at Pirate City Park today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Johnson said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 4 walks and 4 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." So far this season Johnson has a 4-3 record, 14 starts, 102.2 innings, 64 strikeouts and a 2.63 ERA. View Boxscore |
