Postseason Bid Ends for Port Lavaca
Sunday, August 15th, 1982
They put up a valiant effort, but the Port Lavaca Indians didn't have what it takes to make the Gulf Coast League playoffs in 1982. The club was officially eliminated from postseason qualification today.

"Sucks," said Indians starting pitcher Toby Blythe.

The Indians have missed the playoffs 10 times in their 12 years as a Gulf Coast League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 6th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1975. In the last 10 seasons, the Indians have missed the playoffs 9 times.
