Blythe Fires Shutout in Indians Victory
Sunday, August 15th, 1982
Toby Blythe of the Port Lavaca Indians was masterful today, pitching a 5-hit shutout, 1-0, against the Galveston Sand Crabs.
By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Port Lavaca manager .
"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."
Blythe had 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in the outing.
So far this year Blythe has compiled a 12-4 record with a 3.94 ERA.
