Darling Pitches Gem as Rangers Beat Bradenton, 7-0
Sunday, August 15th, 1982
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

Ron Darling of the Dunedin Rangers proved the point at McKechnie Field today, holding the Bradenton Sox to 3 hits in a complete game shutout victory.

"Darling made us look real bad today," Sox manager said in his postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Darling had 11 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks as the Rangers took the 7-0 win.

On the season Darling has 9 wins and 2 losses and a 1.38 ERA.
