Season May Be Over for Threshers Gallo
Thursday, August 19th, 1982
The doctors have spoken and Raymond Gallo of the Clearwater Threshers didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Gallo sustained his season-ending injury during the Galveston Sand Crabs game yesterday at Allyn Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Clearwater medical staff reported Gallo had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.
Taking a look at this year, Raymond Gallo has made 10 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 1-0 won-lost mark and a 5.59 ERA. In pitching 19.1 innings, he has totaled 22 strikeouts and 10 walks.
