Marianchis Not Competitive in 7-0 Loss to Santa Ana Sunday, December 27th, 1981 Today was Bill Scherrer's turn in the rotation for the Santa Ana Cafes and he made the most of it, shutting out the Guadalajara Marianchis on 3 hits. The 23-year-old left-hander led the Cafes to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing 2 walks and tallying 7 strikeouts. "I hope we miss him next time," Guadalajara manager said. "Scherrer certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
