Manatees Come up Short of Playoffs Tuesday, January 19th, 1982 When it comes to a late-season playoff disappointment, the old axiom "wait until next year" isn't overly comforting. "We really thought we would get into the playoffs this year," said La Ceiba Manatees center fielder Juan Villa. "It's really disappointing to come up short." This is the club's 12th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 1969. In total, the Manatees have missed the playoffs 11 times in their 11-year history. |
