Generals Burke Stops Reefers
Friday, January 16th, 1981
Tim Burke hurled a fine game for the Puerto Barrios Generals at Barrios Stadium today, holding the Montego Bay Reefers to 3 hits in a shutout win.
"When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Puerto Barrios manager said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."
The right-hander had 4 strikeouts and 4 walks in the 4-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," Montego Bay manager said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
This season Burke has compiled a 11-2 mark with a 2.85 ERA in 15 starts.
