Day Cracks 5 Hits Tuesday, April 28th, 1970 Michael Day had an answer for everything the Deltona HS Yard Dawgs threw at him today at Jumbos Ballpark. The Tuckahoe HS center fielder went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and put the Thunder Bats on top, 9-8. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Day said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Michael Day hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. Day has a .398 average and a .464 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 43 hits, 4 home runs and driven in 37 runs. View Boxscore |
