No Hits for Hyman, Streak Ends at 24
Wednesday, April 29th, 1970
Erik Hyman, left fielder for the Wilson HS Rays, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Kendall HS Styx today. Not only did the Styx break his 24-game hitting streak, they also beat Wilson HS by the score of 10-5.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Hyman said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
Presently Hyman is batting .460 with 46 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 33 runs and scored 35 times.
