The Charleston HS Jokers were informed today by team doctors that reliever Bob Richel sustained a torn labrum in a recent game against the Concord HS Foxhounds and will not play for 6 months. Richel was hurt throwing a pitch.

He has made 15 relief appearances this year with 1 saves. Richel has achieved a 4-0 record while holding opposing hitters to a .246 batting average and posting a 3.93 ERA. He has tossed 36.2 innings, given up 34 base hits, fanned 21 and issued 17 walks.
