Foote Gets 5 Hits Saturday, May 2nd, 1970 It was a good day at Omaha HS Grounds. The Roanoke HS Black Wolf whipped the Sandy Springs HS Rollers 8-4 and center fielder Elliott Foote showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-5 at the plate. "Some days, lady luck is on your side," Foote told BNN reporters after the game. Black Wolf manager told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 15-year-old "focused and patient." "It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Elliott hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have." Elliott Foote doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
