Williams Sizzles with 30-Game Batting Streak
Monday, May 4th, 1970
Marietta HS center fielder Bob Williams keeps on racking up hits every time he plays.
His hitting streak now stands at 30 games after collecting 1 hit at Eagles Ballpark today. The Cretins took the 6-3 victory over the Annandale HS Pirhanas.
"I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out," Williams said. "I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've also been a little lucky." Bob Williams flied out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
In this current campaign Williams is hitting at a .368 clip with 2 home runs and 36 RBIs.
