Williams Hits in 32 Straight Games
Thursday, May 7th, 1970
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.

Bob Williams did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Border Cats Ballpark today. For the last 32 games in a row, the 16-year-old center fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Marietta HS Cretins beat the Louisville HS Buckeyes 7-5 today.

"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Williams told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Marietta HS clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day."
Bob Williams grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.

So far this year Williams has 2 home runs and a .356 batting average.
