Brouwer 5-for-5 for Miami Beach HS Friday, May 8th, 1970 Nathan Brouwer exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Ballpark of Mesa HS. The Miami Beach HS second baseman had a field day in the 20-9 triumph over the Chapel Hill HS Swamp Bats, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Brouwer must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Nathan Brouwer hit a two-run double in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
