Saturday, May 9th, 1970
Joe Engel's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Conway HS center fielder smacked 1 hit against the Country Club HS Challenger in today's game at Las Vegas HS Grounds, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Rattlers drop the game, 12-2.

"I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly."
Joe Engel singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.

Engel is currently hitting at a .352 pace with 2 home runs and 30 RBIs.
