Bergstrom Stretches Hit String to 20 Sunday, May 10th, 1970 Jonathan Bergstrom continued his streak at Condors Ballpark today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The North Charleston HS third baseman was 1-for-3 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Fighting Falcons were not as fortunate, losing 10-1 to the Portsmouth HS Gryphons. "Bergstrom was hitting everything we threw at him," said Portsmouth HS manager . "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win." Jonathan Bergstrom walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and struck out in the 9th. On the year Bergstrom has hit .429 with 1 home run, 20 RBIs and scored 21 runs. |
