Castillo Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 22
Tuesday, May 12th, 1970
It was the best of both worlds for the Concord HS Foxhounds today at Ballpark of Denver HS, as they defeated the Lauderhill HS Steelhounds 4-2 and also snapped Rizhean Castillo's 22-game hitting streak. The 15-year-old Lauderhill HS center fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Castillo, we just wanted to win the game," said Foxhounds skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Castillo frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Currently Castillo is batting .331 with 5 home runs, 39 RBIs and 43 runs scored.
