McClure Extends Hit Streak to 31 Games

Robby McClure's hitting string continues. The 16-year-old Clearwater HS catcher upped it to 31 games today with 2 hits in the Surge 11-8 win over the Portsmouth HS Gryphons at Condors Ballpark.

"Can we all agree that you'll only ask me questions about the streak once every two days?" he joked with reporters following the game. "I'm starting to run out of ideas for good quotes."
Robby McClure grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

In 32 games this season McClure is batting .396 with 57 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 27 runs and driven in 36.
