Hoffmann Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Thursday, May 14th, 1970 The hot bat of Barbarians shortstop Joe Hoffmann continues to churn out hit after hit, game after game. His consecutive-game hitting streak now numbers 20 games after he went 2-for-5 in today's 11-6 loss to the Owls at Hornets Ballpark. "I'm trying not to think about it much," he said later.
