Erik Hyman really stood out with the bat in the Conference 2 this year as he put together a .453 batting average. Today he was named the winner of the coveted 1970 Most Valuable Player Award.

He hit his way to an award-winning season with these stats: 73 hits, 8 home runs, 53 RBIs and 46 runs scored.

Jim Sekiya of the Kenner HS Liberty finished second in voting, while Bill Zayas of the Country Club HS Challenger finished third.
