Safran Slaps 5 Hits Sunday, April 5th, 1970 The Conway HS Rattlers upended the Springdale HS Tides at Raging Bulls Ballpark today, thanks in large part to first baseman Jay Safran, who had a smashing day with the bat, racking up 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His big effort helped propel the Rattlers to a 14-2 victory. Jay Safran hit a two-run double in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. So far this season Safran is hitting .538 with no home runs, 10 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 14 hits in 26 at-bats and a .571 OBP. View Boxscore |
