Bishops Melanson Out Rest Of Season
Friday, April 24th, 1970
Miami Beach HS starting pitcher Allan Melanson could miss the remainder of the season because of an arthritic elbow. He exited yesterday's Louisville HS game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Melanson would be out 5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

In 5 starts this season Melanson has notched a 2-0 record and a 2.14 ERA.
